What's Items Are Accepted At The
La Ronge Landfill?
The La Ronge landfill currently accepts the following items for disposal:
- Household Waste
- Construction & Demolition Waste (including Furniture)
- Tires
- Brush (any material from grubbing operations)
- Scrap Metal
- Furniture
- Clean Soil
- Concrete (free of rebar)
- Appliances* (Also accepted at the Recycling Depot)
* There is a fee to dispose of appliances. All appliances with Freon must go to the Recycling Depot.
What Items are NOT Accepted?
Items to take to Recycling Depot
- Batteries (house hold, dry cell and wet cell)
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Equipment
- Used oil and anti-freeze (Including all associated plastics, filters, and absorbents)
Items to take to SARCAN
- Household Batteries
- Electronics (TV’s, Computers, Microwaves etc.)
- Household Paint
- Glass Jars
Items to take to Elsewhere
- Asbestos (Prince Albert Landfill)
- Bio Medicinal or Bio Hazardous (Check with Sask Health Authority)
- Hazardous Waste, Cleaning Chemicals, Pesticides (Call GFL or Protex Enviromental)
La Ronge Landfill Fee Schedule
Effective July 5, 2021 LLRRWMC fees will be applied for all waste deposited at the Landfill facility. Fees for disposal services are now measured in Tonnes.
NOTE: New Landfill Fee Schedule will be released in October 2024 for changes coming January 1st, 2025

*The landfill does not accept concrete with rebar
Failure to sort materials appropriately will result in the additional handling charges as follows:
Labour | Minimum 1 hour @ $120.00/ hour |
Equipment | Minimum 1 hour @ $200.00/hour |
A surcharge of 100% may be charged for loads with more than 10%, by weight, recyclable cardboard.
Tire Disposal will be charged in accordance with Saskatchewan Scrap Tire Association fees

Clean soil, crushed concrete, and material from grubbing operations may be delivered to the landfill free of charge. Material must first be inspected and approved.
A 50 % Surcharge will be applied to all out-of-area waste
Landfill Map
The following map shows the drop off locations of the landfill. Most residential customers will use the bins located at the “Drop Off Area.”

- Drop Off Area – Most residential waste dumped here. There are three bins provided for the following items:
- Construction Material
- Household Waste
- Oversized Household Items
- Clean Wood Brush – Items from grubbing operations
- New Cell – Commercial Use
- Tires – Tires can be dropped off into the pile.
The Share Shack
Reducing Waste & Giving Back
The Share Shack is a designated space where community members can drop off or pick up gently used household items that are still in good condition. Whether you’re looking for something useful or want to pass on items you no longer need, the Share Shack promotes sustainability and helps keep good items out of the landfill.
Items you might find or donate include:
- Small household appliances
- Furniture
- Tools
- Toys
- Kitchenware
By participating in the Share Shack, you’re contributing to a more sustainable community and helping reduce landfill waste. One person’s unneeded item could be exactly what someone else is looking for!
